Master of Public Health

Adelaide University's Master of Public Health runs three distinct end points on the same 96-unit, two-year frame: a Professional Practice pathway built around a 24-unit placement for people wanting applied, workplace-ready public health skills; a Dissertation pathway (60 core units, a 24-unit dissertation, and 12 electives) for students weighing a PhD later; and a Research Thesis pathway that swaps in a 48-unit thesis for those committed to a research career from the outset.

Core content covers epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion, and communicable disease control. A Translational Health Sciences specialisation is delivered entirely online for students who want to keep working while they study, a genuinely different format from the on-campus-and-online Public Health specialisation.

Adelaide has a long track record in this field through its School of Public Health, building on established South Australian public health research in areas like Indigenous health and chronic disease epidemiology.
