Bachelor of Architectural Design

A three-year, 144-unit foundation degree (90 core + a 36-unit major/discipline stream + 18 elective units) at Adelaide City Campus, with February and July intakes. Covers design studio work, technical drawing and construction, digital modelling, sustainability, and architectural history/theory. No prerequisites or assumed knowledge required.

Adelaide University frames this as the first stage toward architectural registration rather than a standalone qualification: it feeds into the Master of Architecture, with a packaged Bachelor + Master of Architecture pathway offered at 5 years full-time; this bachelor's degree alone does not qualify a graduate as a registered architect. Students can also specialise via a major in Urban Planning, with a combined Bachelor of Architectural Design (Urban Planning) + Master of Urban and Regional Planning pathway at 4 years, or a Bachelor of Architectural Design + Master of Landscape Architecture pathway at 5 years.
