Graduate Diploma of Music
Australian Institute of Music, Sydney, NSW, Australia
About this program
AIM's Graduate Diploma of Music sits between the Master of Music and the undergraduate degrees: a shorter, more contained credential for graduates (in music or another field) wanting focused postgraduate-level training without committing to the full research-and-major-creative-project structure of the Master's.
Like the Master of Music, it runs across AIM's trimester calendar and draws on the same faculty of working composers, performers, and producers, but compresses the creative and research components into a single-year format rather than spreading them across a longer program. That's useful for career-changers or international graduates wanting a faster postgraduate qualification with an Australian credential attached.
It also functions as a bridge for students who complete a Graduate Certificate of Music and want to continue without committing immediately to the full Master's, or as a standalone finishing qualification for a specific creative or technical specialisation within music.
