Master of Nursing (Coursework)

This is Avondale's postgraduate nursing pathway for registered nurses who already hold a first degree and want to specialise rather than start over. At 11 units (72 credit points) it's a lean coursework masters, and it's built with defined exit points: a Graduate Certificate at 4 units, a Graduate Diploma at 8, so a nurse who needs to pause partway through still walks away with a recognised credential rather than nothing.

The two specialisation tracks on offer, Clinical Nursing/Clinical Teaching and Leadership and Management, split off after five shared core units, and the choice matters for career direction: one leads toward advanced clinical practice or clinical education roles (increasingly in demand as hospital-based clinical facilitator positions expand), the other toward nurse unit manager and health service leadership positions. Given Avondale's ties to Sydney Adventist Hospital, a number of students are already working within that network while completing the degree part-time.
