About this program
Bond is one of only seven universities in Australia accredited by the Actuaries Institute, and the only one in Queensland, so the Bachelor of Actuarial Science is built to carry students through Part I (Foundation) exemptions rather than leaving that accreditation work for after graduation. The degree runs across three years, with subjects sequenced into connected themes each trimester so probability, financial mathematics and statistical modelling build on each other rather than sitting as isolated units.
International students complete the program across the January and September intakes, giving two full semesters a year rather than Bond's usual three, while domestic students can use all three trimesters to finish faster. Class sizes stay small enough that lecturers know students by name, which matters in a discipline where a misunderstood assumption in one trimester tends to resurface as a mistake two subjects later. Graduates leave with a credential recognised by employers hiring for insurance, superannuation and financial risk roles across Australia.

Admissions
Completion of Australian Year 12 (or equivalent) with strong results in Mathematical Methods/Specialist Mathematics; Bond uses its own entry score rather than a strict ATAR cut-off, and considers alternative pathways (Diploma, Foundation Program).
