Doctor of Physiotherapy

Bond's Doctor of Physiotherapy is accredited as an entry-level program by the Australian Physiotherapy Council and approved by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia, and it's built around problem- and case-based learning rather than a lecture-heavy model: each teaching block centres on clinical cases students work through in small groups, mirroring how physiotherapists actually reason through a patient in front of them.

The degree includes up to 1,400 hours of clinical placement, spread across genuinely different settings: acute care such as cardiorespiratory and orthopaedic wards, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, musculoskeletal outpatient clinics, and, depending on availability and student interest, paediatrics, women's and men's health, elite sports, and rural, remote or international placements. Bond also runs an on-campus community physiotherapy clinic, so some placement hours happen without students leaving the Gold Coast campus. The final semester is built around a clinical internship placement specifically designed to push students beyond the caseload variety they've already encountered, ahead of entering the profession.
