Bachelor of Biomedical Science

Bond University, Gold Coast, QLD, Australia

About this program

Bond's Bachelor of Biomedical Science is a two-year accelerated degree, made possible by studying across all three of Bond's trimesters rather than the usual two-semester academic year, a genuine time saving for students planning to go on to medicine, physiotherapy or another postgraduate health program where a biomedical degree is the entry pathway rather than the destination.

Students choose between two majors partway through the degree. The Pre-Health/Professional major is aimed at students heading toward clinical postgraduate study, pairing a Health Communication subject with electives chosen from nutrition, exercise and sports science, psychology or health innovation. The Laboratory/Research major instead trains students in advanced bioscience laboratory technique and molecular diagnostics, culminating in a two-semester individual research project, closer to what a student heading into medical research or a PhD would want on transcript. Both majors share a common science core in the first year, so the choice doesn't have to be locked in on day one.
