Bachelor of Music Industry (Major in Performance)

Box Hill structures its Bachelor of Music Industry around six possible majors (Performance is one, alongside options like Audio Production and Composition), with a combined common core running through the first two years covering the music industry from multiple angles: innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, and preparing for where the industry is heading rather than where it's been.

Once the major is chosen, it accounts for roughly half the remaining coursework, and students fill the rest by picking from a pool of more than sixty subjects, adding either two minors, a minor plus electives, or straight electives, a genuinely open structure compared to a fixed-major conservatoire degree. Full-time study runs at 16 contact hours a week plus an expected 16 hours of personal practice and study time, delivered face to face on weekdays.

Box Hill also builds in formal exit points most bachelor's degrees don't offer: a Diploma in Music Industry after one year and an Associate Degree in Music Industry after two, useful for students who want a credential if their circumstances change partway through, or who are testing whether a full three-year commitment is right for them.
