Bachelor of Early Childhood Education

Box Hill's Bachelor of Early Childhood Education is built for people already working while they study, the program runs as blended delivery with classes on evenings and occasional Saturdays, and each core subject pairs 30 hours of face-to-face lecture, tutorial, and workshop time with around 5 hours of online activity rather than a standard daytime timetable.

The degree comprises 28 core subjects and 4 practicum subjects, totalling 80 days of supervised placement across a range of early childhood settings, deliberately including services other than the student's own workplace, so students already working in childcare still have to demonstrate their skills somewhere unfamiliar rather than only in a setting where staff already know them.

The program is recognised by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority and meets Victorian Institute of Teaching standards for Early Childhood Teacher registration, meaning graduates come out eligible to register as qualified early childhood teachers, not just educators, in Victoria.
