Bachelor of Accounting

The value proposition of CDU's Bachelor of Accounting is almost entirely about the accreditation stack: graduates meet the educational requirements for CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and the broader accounting suite at CDU also carries CIMA (UK) and ACCA recognition. For a degree at a regional Australian university, that's a fairly comprehensive set of professional pathways, and it means graduates aren't limited to local NT employers if they want to sit CPA or CA exams interstate or move to accounting roles in the UK or elsewhere in the Commonwealth.

Content-wise it's a fairly standard accounting core (financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, taxation, commercial law), but CDU frames electives around the resources and government sectors that dominate the Territory economy: mining royalties, public sector financial management, and small-business advisory work show up more than in accounting degrees oriented toward corporate finance in a capital-city CBD. A combined Bachelor of Accounting/Diploma of Laws option exists for students who want commercial law grounding without committing to a full LLB.

Delivery is flexible (on campus, online, or blended) and the degree can be taken part-time, which suits the number of students working in bookkeeping or para-accounting roles while they complete the qualification.
