Bachelor of Wine Business

Charles Sturt University, Multi-campus, regional NSW, Australia

About this program

Wagga Wagga sits inside one of Australia's wine regions, and CSU built the Bachelor of Wine Business around that geography: the course is run out of the National Wine and Grape Industry Centre, a joint centre with the NSW DPI and the Australian Wine Research Institute, so students are studying wine commerce next to people doing actual viticulture and oenology research, not in a business school treating wine as a case study.

The course covers the full grape-to-glass chain: viticulture and winemaking basics so graduates understand the product technically, then sales, marketing, export and wine tourism units aimed at running or working in a cellar door, distributor, or export operation. It's completed over 192 points, available full-time on campus or via CSU's online/blended options over a longer part-time timeframe, which suits people already working in the industry. Career outcomes lean toward wine marketing, brand management, export sales and cellar door/hospitality management rather than winemaking itself. The sister Bachelor of Wine Science covers the production side for students who want that instead.
