About this program
The Bachelor of IT at CQUniversity runs core IT units through the first term before splitting students into Application Development, Business Analysis, or Cyber Security majors from term two onward. Cyber security in particular has become the major CQU pushes hardest in its marketing given the national skills shortage, and it's ACS-accredited at the professional level like the rest of the degree.
What sets the final-year structure apart is the explicit choice between an internship stream and a project stream for the capstone. Students on the internship track spend roughly 32 hours a week for ten consecutive weeks embedded with a host organisation, which is a substantial placement compared to a single-unit industry project elsewhere. For students who can't commit to that block (a real constraint for CQU's large regional and mature-age cohort juggling existing jobs), the project stream delivers an equivalent capstone experience without leaving paid work.

- Major (from Term 2): Application Development, Business Analysis, or Cyber Security

- Capstone (final term, choice of stream): Internship (32 hrs/week for 10 weeks with a host organisation) or Project
- ACS-accredited at professional level on completion
