Master of Engineering Management

Curtin University, Perth, WA, Australia

About this program

Curtin's Master of Engineering Management is a genuinely fast program: 12 months full-time across three trimesters rather than the standard two years, jointly delivered by the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Business and Law, which shows up directly in the unit split: 125 credits of engineering units (choose five from six options) plus 125 credits of business units (four core plus one elective) plus a 50-credit engineering project capstone.

The business content isn't generic MBA filler bolted onto an engineering degree: strategic management, finance, projects and operations management, and human factors units are chosen specifically because they map onto what an engineer moving into a management or project-lead role actually needs, rather than a broad business-generalist curriculum. That combination is aimed at engineers already in the workforce who want to move from individual-contributor technical roles into managing engineering teams or projects, not new graduates.

Evening class availability is a deliberate accommodation for that same audience: working engineers studying part-time over a minimum 24 months rather than pausing a career for full-time study, which is a genuinely different student profile than most of Curtin's other engineering postgraduate offerings attract.
