Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)

Curtin's Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) is APAC-accredited and runs as a combined four-year sequence rather than a standard three-year degree with honours bolted on afterward. The honours stream is embedded as an expected continuation for students who hit the mark, not a separate application most students won't get into. That said, entry to the honours stream itself is competitive: a minimum 70% average across the 14 core second- and third-year psychology units is required, and offers go out by invitation rather than automatic progression.

The APAC accreditation is the whole point structurally: it's what makes graduates eligible for associate membership of the Australian Psychological Society and sets up the standard Australian pathway toward provisional registration and eventual practice, which distinguishes this from a psychological-science degree that stops short of the accredited sequence.

Because the honours year functions as a genuine research year within the four-year structure rather than an optional fifth year, students plan their thesis topic and supervisor arrangements earlier than they would in a bolt-on honours model, and Curtin's psychology school covers a fairly broad research spread from clinical and health psychology through to forensic and organisational applications.
