Bachelor of Nursing

Deakin runs nursing across multiple Victorian campuses (Burwood, Geelong Waurn Ponds, and previously Warrnambool) and puts real weight behind simulation-based learning before students ever hit a ward. Its clinical simulation labs are built to mirror real hospital environments, which the university uses to front-load confidence before the roughly 800+ hours of clinical placement required for national accreditation. The course is accredited by ANMAC and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with graduates eligible for RN registration.

The curriculum runs from bioscience and health assessment fundamentals into progressively more complex clinical subjects (medical-surgical nursing, mental health, aged care, and community nursing), with a placement block attached to nearly every trimester rather than one concentrated block, so students are in real clinical settings from relatively early in the course rather than only in their final year.
