Bachelor of Arts

ECU's Bachelor of Arts covers a fairly focused set of four disciplines (Visual Arts, Creative and Professional Writing, English, and Historical and Political Studies) rather than the sprawling nine-or-more-major menu some other Australian BAs offer, which keeps the degree tighter but means students wanting, say, a straight sociology or anthropology major would need to look elsewhere. The Creative and Professional Writing major sits alongside ECU's newer standalone Bachelor of Creative Writing (launched 2025), so students who want writing as one part of a broader arts education rather than the sole focus of their degree take this route instead.

Historical and Political Studies pairs history with political science content rather than treating them as fully separate majors, giving students a combined lens on how historical events shape contemporary policy and politics, useful preparation for students eyeing government, policy, or journalism careers as much as academic history. Visual Arts, meanwhile, benefits from ECU's studio facilities and connections into WA's contemporary art scene, including opportunities tied to Perth galleries and public art commissions.

Combined degree options exist too, most notably Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Media and Communication, for students who want to pair a humanities major with a more vocationally-oriented communications qualification rather than choosing one over the other.
