Bachelor of Nursing

Griffith's nursing program has historically posted some of the strongest graduate satisfaction results in the national QILT surveys among Queensland providers, and the reason cited most often by students isn't the classroom teaching. It's the volume and variety of clinical placement hours across Gold Coast University Hospital, Logan Hospital, and a spread of smaller regional and private facilities.

The degree is delivered across three campuses (Nathan, Logan, Gold Coast) and each has slightly different placement partnerships baked in, so where you enrol has some bearing on what kind of clinical exposure you get in your first placement block. Griffith also runs one of the larger simulated clinical environments in the state: a mock hospital ward setup used heavily in first and second year before students are let loose on real wards.

Because Queensland's health workforce shortage has been acute in regional and mental health nursing specifically, Griffith has built electives and placement partnerships that specifically funnel students toward those areas, and a meaningful share of each graduating cohort ends up working in exactly those under-served specialties rather than general metropolitan ward nursing.
