Bachelor of Business
Holmes Institute, Multi-campus (Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast), Australia
About this program
Holmes's Bachelor of Business is a 24-unit, three-year degree with four specialisation options (Management, Marketing, International Business and Hospitality Management), the last of which is a slightly unusual inclusion for a business-only private provider and reflects Holmes's history of teaching hospitality alongside its commerce offerings. Students complete a shared core of accounting, economics, law and management units in years one and two before specialising in year three.
As with most of Holmes's degrees, the cohort is heavily international, and the degree functions for a lot of students as the standard three-year pathway toward permanent residency via the skilled migration points test, rather than purely as an academic credential chosen on its own merits. That's not a criticism of the teaching: the core units are solid and cover the same ground as equivalent degrees at larger universities. But it's worth naming plainly rather than pretending every enrolment is driven by intellectual interest in business theory.
