Master of International Business

ICMS's Master of International Business is built the same way most of its postgraduate degrees are: dense coursework paired with a genuine industry placement rather than a token internship. Students complete two Work Integrated Learning subjects worth 600 hours combined, working inside an actual organisation on real business problems, and anyone already employed in a relevant industry role can apply for recognition of prior learning against that requirement instead of duplicating hours they've already put in at work.

The degree covers trade and finance, international economics, accounting, marketing and people management, aimed at giving graduates from non-business undergraduate backgrounds (and there are plenty in ICMS's international cohort) a genuinely broad management skillset rather than a narrow specialisation. ICMS leans on its Manly campus location and small class sizes to run the program with more direct staff contact than a large city university's equivalent masters, which shows up in seminar-style teaching rather than large lecture theatres.

Most students take two years full-time, and the international business framing suits ICMS's own student demographic well: a large share of the cohort comes from overseas and returns home, or moves into export/import and multinational management roles in Sydney, after graduating.
