Bachelor of Business (Marketing)

International College of Management, Sydney, Manly, NSW, Australia

About this program

ICMS runs its business degrees on a shared structural template: 12 core business subjects everyone takes regardless of specialisation, then a run of specialisation subjects, electives and two Work Integrated Learning placements bolted on. The Marketing stream slots into that frame with brand strategy, digital marketing and consumer behaviour content layered over the core management, economics and accounting units. The core subjects include named units like Pathway to Success and Unlocking Your Leadership Potential, which signals ICMS's employability-first pitch: these aren't abstract theory units but built around workplace-readiness skills from day one.

What differentiates ICMS's Marketing degree from a marketing major buried inside a big university's commerce degree is the WIL component: up to two trimesters, roughly nine months, of supervised professional placement built directly into the award. For marketing specifically, that tends to mean students working inside agency, retail or hospitality marketing teams around Sydney, given ICMS's strong existing placement relationships in the tourism and hospitality sector it was originally built around.

The Manly campus itself, a heritage sandstone building overlooking Manly Beach that students and staff refer to as 'the castle on the hill', gives the degree an unusually pleasant physical setting relative to most CBD-based business schools, something that comes up repeatedly in student reviews and open day materials.
