Bachelor of Business (Sports Management)

International College of Management, Sydney, Manly, NSW, Australia

About this program

ICMS built its Sports Management degree around Sydney's genuine concentration of professional sport, and the college's placement network reflects that: students on this stream commonly end up placed with NRL and A-League clubs, stadium operators, or sports marketing agencies for their Work Integrated Learning component, rather than generic corporate placements. Content covers sports marketing, event operations and sponsorship alongside the standard ICMS core business subjects (economics, accounting, management, leadership), so graduates come out with a genuine business qualification rather than a narrower sport science credential.

The degree follows ICMS's usual 12 core, several specialisation, elective and two-WIL-subject structure, with sports-specific units layered into the specialisation slots. Sponsorship and commercial partnerships, facility and stadium management, and sports event logistics feature prominently given how much of Sydney's major-event calendar (State of Origin, international cricket, A-League finals) runs through venues the college has existing relationships with.

Students interested in athlete management, club administration or major event delivery tend to gravitate here rather than to ICMS's separate Event Management degree, though there's meaningful elective overlap between the two given how closely sports and events management skillsets sit together in the Australian industry.
