Bachelor of Business (Management)

Kaplan Business School, Multi-campus (Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane), Australia

About this program

The management major is the most conventional read of KBS's Bachelor of Business: it takes the shared foundation (business communication, accounting, economics, commercial law, numerical analysis, then governance/ethics/sustainability) and layers on the Level 300 subjects the school specifically flags as its advanced management core: dynamic strategy, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, management in global business, and managing change. That's a more deliberately generalist manager-track than the accounting or marketing majors, aimed at students who want to move into supervisory and management roles across any industry rather than a functional specialism.

One practical caveat: KBS notes that its Management and Marketing programs aren't currently available at the Brisbane and Perth campuses, so this major is realistically an Adelaide, Melbourne or Sydney option at present. The Level 300 subjects reappear as MBA elective options too (dynamic strategy and entrepreneurship in particular), so a student who does this major as an undergraduate and later returns for an MBA at KBS will recognise some of the same subject titles at a more advanced level, which is either a nice continuity or a reason to look elsewhere for genuinely new content, depending on how you view it.

As with the rest of the suite, it's 24 subjects across nine trimesters, full-time three years, with the two Level 300 internship subjects available to build workplace experience before graduating, useful for a major where a management job title tends to require some demonstrated track record even at graduate level.
