Bachelor of Business (Marketing)
Kaplan Business School, Multi-campus (Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane), Australia
About this program
Marketing at KBS sits on top of the same generalist foundation as every Bachelor of Business student (communication, accounting, economics, commercial law, numerical analysis in the first year, one ethics and governance subject in the second), and then diverges through a run of Level 200 and 300 electives built around consumer behaviour, digital and social media marketing, brand strategy and marketing analytics. The degree isn't marketed with a heavy digital-first pitch the way some newer marketing degrees are; it reads more as a traditional marketing major that has folded digital channels and analytics in as electives rather than rebuilding the whole degree around them, which suits students who want a broad marketing grounding rather than a narrowly digital one.
One practical note for anyone comparing campuses: KBS states plainly that its Marketing (and Management) programs aren't currently offered at the Brisbane and Perth campuses, so students set on this major need to check availability at Adelaide, Melbourne or Sydney before enrolling. The two Level 300 internship subjects are open to marketing-track students and are one of the more direct ways to turn the degree into agency or in-house marketing experience before graduation, given how heavily entry-level marketing hiring in Australia still leans on demonstrated placement or agency exposure.
As with the rest of the Bachelor of Business family, it's a 24-subject, nine-trimester degree with five intake points a year, which in practice means a student starting in a November intake finishes roughly three years later without waiting on the standard February/July university calendar.
