Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)

La Trobe University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

La Trobe's engineering school is considerably younger than its Business or Science faculties. Its first engineering cohorts only began in the mid-2010s, and the course was built from the ground up around a project-based learning model rather than a traditional lecture-and-tutorial structure inherited from an older program. Students work through substantial team-based engineering projects in most years of the degree rather than treating design projects as a single capstone experience bolted onto a lecture-heavy course.

Majors are offered across the conventional engineering disciplines, and the course is run from the Bundoora campus with strong emphasis on industry partnerships for placements, reflecting the practical, employer-facing approach La Trobe has taken to differentiate a newer engineering school from long-established Group of Eight competitors in Melbourne.
