Master of Networking

The Master of Networking builds on MIT's undergraduate networking offering with two named specialisations, Cyber Security and Cloud Networking, reflecting where enterprise networking demand has shifted over the past several years, away from pure on-premises infrastructure administration and toward cloud-integrated, security-conscious network design. Hands-on practical work with Cisco, Microsoft, and Riverbed networking technology is built into the course rather than kept purely theoretical, which matters for a discipline where employers generally want to see vendor-platform familiarity alongside conceptual knowledge.

Structurally each unit carries 20 credit points with a standard full-time load of 60 credit points per trimester, and the program can be completed in one to two years depending on entry pathway and prior qualifications. MIT offers a shortened pathway for students entering with relevant undergraduate networking or IT credentials. As with MIT's other postgraduate IT and engineering programs, the emphasis throughout is on applied, industry-collaborative learning over pure theory.
