Bachelor of Commerce

Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

Monash's Commerce degree is built around a three-part structure that's more flexible than it looks on paper: eight core Commerce units, eight units for a chosen major, and eight units of free choice that most students spend on a second major or a pair of minors. In practice this means a student can leave with, say, Finance and Marketing as a genuine double major rather than one major padded out with unrelated electives.

Monash Business School's triple accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA) puts it in a small global bracket: under 1% of business schools worldwide hold all three, and that international recognition matters for the sizeable cohort of the degree's students who go on to work or study overseas. The Clayton campus location also puts commerce students within a short trip of Melbourne's financial and professional services district for internships during trimester breaks.

Majors span the expected range, including Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Management, but also less common combinations like Actuarial Studies and Business Analytics, both of which draw on Monash's strength in quantitative disciplines. Accounting graduates get a direct pathway toward CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants ANZ recognition, which shortens the professional qualification process afterward.
