Bachelor of Business (Management)

The management major inside QUT's Bachelor of Business is built around a fairly practical premise: most graduates will spend their first years managing people and projects rather than setting corporate strategy, so the course front-loads organisational behaviour, HR fundamentals and operations before getting into higher-level strategy content in the final year. QUT Business School's location in the Brisbane CBD (the Gardens Point campus sits a short walk from the city's professional services and government precinct) feeds into guest lectures, case studies drawn from Queensland employers, and internship placements that many students slot into their elective units.

The course structure is standard business-degree scaffolding: core units in accounting, economics, marketing and business law sit alongside the management major. But the major itself covers change management, leadership, and increasingly workplace-technology and people-analytics content that reflects how HR and line-management roles have shifted. Students can combine the major with a second major (a reasonably common QUT pattern for business students) or take it as a single-major degree with a broader elective spread.

It suits students aiming at generalist graduate programs, HR, operations or team-leadership roles rather than those set on investment banking or actuarial-style careers, where the finance or business analytics majors are the more direct fit.
