Bachelor of Business

RMIT University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

RMIT restructured its Bachelor of Business around what it calls an agile, non-traditional model, built to layer more hands-on industry work into a normally quite theoretical degree. Students choose from fourteen majors - Entrepreneurship, Finance, Global Business, Logistics and Supply Chain, Management and Change, Marketing, People and Organisation, Business Information Systems, Economics, Financial Planning and several others - plus an optional minor, or can leave without declaring a major at all if they want maximum flexibility.

That range of majors is genuinely wide for an undergraduate business degree; a lot of universities offer four or five majors and expect students to fit their interests into one of them, whereas here a student interested in blockchain-enabled business or social impact work has an actual named pathway rather than a generic elective. Programs run three years full-time or six part-time, with February, July and October intakes, giving mid-year starters and people restarting study after a break more entry points than the standard once-a-year model.

Industry integration runs through most majors via partnerships with named organisations rather than generic "real-world case studies," and RMIT frames the whole degree around solving actual problems for those partners as part of coursework.
