Master of Business Administration

Southern Cross University, Lismore/Gold Coast/Coffs Harbour, NSW, Australia

About this program

SCU's MBA is built around a single specialisation choice rather than a menu of electives: most students take Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, reflecting where the university has clearly decided to place its bet on what differentiates the degree from a generic MBA. Students who'd rather keep things broad can swap the specialisation for two additional elective units instead, trading depth in one area for a wider spread across leadership and management topics.

The capstone is an industry research project tied to the student's own workplace or a career direction they're moving toward, rather than a generic case-study exam, which means the final deliverable doubles as a portfolio piece for job applications or internal promotion cases. Like the rest of SCU's postgraduate suite, the MBA runs on six-week study blocks, letting full-time-equivalent students who study continuously finish faster than the traditional two-year MBA timeline.

An online-only Managing and Leading People variant exists as a separate, more HR-focused version of the degree for students who know upfront that people management rather than analytics is their priority.
