Bachelor of Design (Industrial Design)

Industrial Design at Swinburne runs on a studio model where the coursework builds toward two named capstone units, Capstone: Industrial Design Major Project 1 and 2, rather than a single undifferentiated final-year project, giving students a full year to develop, refine and present one substantial body of design work instead of squeezing it into one semester. Studio units like the Socially Responsible Design Studio push students toward designing for real constraints (accessibility, sustainability, manufacturing limitations) rather than purely conceptual or aesthetic exercises.
