Bachelor of Business

TAFE NSW, Multi-campus, NSW, Australia

About this program

TAFE NSW's Bachelor of Business builds toward three named specialisations: marketing, management, or hospitality and hotel management. The placement requirement is deliberately scaled to match: 60 hours minimum for marketing and management students, but a much heavier 300 hours for the hospitality and hotel management stream, reflecting how much that industry expects hands-on shift experience before graduation. Students commit to a specialisation from second year, choosing four relevant electives in year two and another four in year three that build toward it, rather than declaring a major on day one and locking it in.

Coursework spans management, economics, finance, marketing, communications technologies, business statistics, law and people management, a broad general-business foundation before the specialisation electives narrow things down. Being a TAFE NSW degree rather than a university one, the course leans into applied, workplace-facing content and built-in professional placement as differentiators, consistent with the sector's practical training reputation.

Graduates come out with both a bachelor's qualification and documented, assessed workplace hours in their chosen specialisation, which matters particularly for the hospitality stream where employers routinely want to see real service-floor or front-of-house experience.
