Bachelor of 3D Art and Animation
TAFE NSW, Multi-campus, NSW, Australia
About this program
TAFE NSW frames this degree explicitly around commercial production pipelines rather than pure fine-arts animation theory. Students work in deadline-driven environments meant to mimic actual studio conditions in feature film, games, television, advertising and visualisation work, and graduate with a bachelor's degree plus a showreel built for client and employer review rather than just an academic portfolio. That production-pipeline framing runs through the whole course: students don't just learn individual 3D and animation skills in isolation, they practice working with others across a production pipeline to deliver a finished result against a brief, the way an actual studio team would.
Run out of Design Centre Enmore, one of TAFE NSW's specialist creative campuses, the degree blends theoretical grounding in art and animation principles with the technical software skills the games and VFX industries actually use day to day.
Graduates aim at roles across feature filmmaking, game production, television and online content, and advertising and visualisation, a broader placement than a games-only or film-only animation degree, useful for students who aren't yet sure which specific corner of the visual effects and animation industry they want to land in.
