Bachelor of Business
TAFE Queensland, Multi-campus, QLD, Australia
About this program
TAFE Queensland's Bachelor of Business runs through the same University of Canberra partnership arrangement that underpins its creative-industries degrees, giving students access to a metropolitan business curriculum without leaving Brisbane's South Bank, Mt Gravatt or Coomera campuses. Class sizes are smaller than at a standard university business school, and a lot of the assessment is built around applied projects with real local businesses rather than case studies written for a textbook.
The core is conventional business fundamentals: accounting, marketing, management, economics and business law, but students choose a major partway through, with options that track Queensland's actual employment mix: management, marketing, human resource management and event/tourism-adjacent majors show up more than a generic finance-only track would. Because the degree sits inside a TAFE campus rather than a university one, students doing a business major alongside, say, a hospitality or IT diploma at the same site can cross-enrol in electives from those areas, which isn't something a standalone university business degree typically allows.
Graduates go into generalist business, management-trainee, marketing coordinator and small-business roles across Queensland, and the degree also functions as a credentialing step for TAFE Queensland students moving up from a business-related diploma.
