Bachelor of Business
Torrens University Australia, Multi-campus, national, Australia
About this program
The degree runs 15 core subjects against 9 electives, a heavier core-to-elective ratio than a lot of comparable business degrees, which front-loads shared fundamentals (business communication, understanding people and organisations, customer experience management, marketing fundamentals) before students branch into electives across marketing, public relations, event management, tourism and hospitality.
Two features do most of the work distinguishing this from a generic business degree: a mandatory 300 hours of industry-relevant experience built across the course rather than a single placement block, and a compulsory Industry Consulting Project subject where students work on an actual business problem for a real organisation rather than a simulated case study. That project is usually the first thing graduates put on a resume.
240 credit points, three years full-time standard, with part-time and accelerated study options and delivery across Torrens' Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide campuses as well as online.
