Master of Information Technology

Torrens University Australia, Multi-campus, national, Australia

About this program

Torrens offers both a standard Master of Information Technology and an "Advanced" variant; the Advanced stream runs 160 credit points over 13 subjects, including a 20-credit-point capstone (ITW601) and a 30-credit-point advanced project (ITA602), which is a noticeably heavier project load than most coursework master's degrees carry.

Content mixes core software and systems units, including Principles of Programming, Secure by Design, and Software Engineering Principles, with electives in cloud computing, artificial intelligence and data modelling, letting students weight the degree toward development, security or data depending on where they're headed. Entry expects an existing IT-adjacent bachelor's degree covering programming, networks, databases and web development, so this isn't designed as a from-scratch career-change degree the way some competitor "IT conversion" master's programs are.

Delivered online or on campus, with the Advanced version taking around two years full-time for international students.
