About this program
The Bachelor of Primary Education is a four-year degree preparing graduates to teach Kindergarten through Year 6, and it treats professional placement as the spine of the course rather than an add-on: students complete a minimum of 80 days of practical placement across different school levels and settings, building to a 30-day teaching placement in the final year that functions as a genuine trial run at the job.
From second year onward, the course's Pedagogical Content Knowledge units are taught on-site in schools rather than in a lecture theatre, so students are regularly working with children of primary age well before their major placement blocks begin.
UC also offers several targeted variants of the same degree (with specialisations in Health and Physical Education, Creative Arts, or STEM), all following the same 80-day-plus-30-day placement structure but layering in subject-specific pedagogy for students who already know which curriculum area they want to teach into.

Admissions
ATAR of approximately 65-70 (or equivalent); satisfactory National Police Certificate required prior to professional placement.
