Melbourne's Master of Teaching runs through the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, which has historically been one of the highest-ranked education faculties in the world by the subject rankings, and the program leans on that research reputation by building coursework around evidence-based teaching practice rather than received classroom wisdom: the school's academics are frequently the people whose research the state's own curriculum authority cites.

- Semester 3: Professional Practice II, further method-specific pedagogy subjects, extended teaching placement with increasing independence

- VIT-mandated placement hours accumulate across all four semesters
Admissions
Completed bachelor degree with sufficient content knowledge in at least one approved teaching method area; minimum WAM typically 65%+; satisfactory results on the Casper situational judgement test.
