About this program
This is Notre Dame's dedicated feeder degree into its own Doctor of Medicine program. Students who maintain the required GPA through the three years get a guaranteed interview and, on passing that, a confirmed place in the MD without sitting GAMSAT, which is largely why students choose this over a generic biomedical science degree elsewhere. It runs out of the Fremantle campus, sharing teaching space and some staff with the medical school itself.
Class sizes are genuinely small by Australian university standards. Notre Dame markets itself on this, and in the science labs it means more direct instructor time than at the larger biomedical cohorts nearby. The degree still stands on its own for anyone who doesn't proceed to medicine, but the assured pathway is the headline feature and shapes the entire cohort's expectations.
