Master of Business Administration
University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba, QLD, Australia
About this program
UniSQ's MBA follows the generalist model most Australian MBAs use: core units across strategy, finance, marketing, leadership, and organisational behaviour, aimed at experienced professionals moving into or already working in management roles rather than fresh graduates. Where it departs from the metro-university MBA template is delivery: it's built primarily for students studying externally while working full-time, which shapes the assessment design around applied, workplace-relevant projects rather than assuming students have time for extended residential intensives.
Students typically bring several years of workplace experience into the cohort, and case studies and group assignments lean on that mix of industries and seniority levels rather than assuming a uniform corporate background. A capstone strategic management project toward the end of the degree asks students to apply the accumulated coursework to a real organisational problem, often drawn from their own workplace.
The degree doesn't chase the specific big-name accreditations (AACSB, EQUIS) that the most prestige-focused Australian MBAs market heavily, and is positioned instead as an accessible, flexible option for regional and remote professionals who need postgraduate business credentials without relocating or taking time off work.
