Bachelor of Business
University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba, QLD, Australia
About this program
UniSQ's Bachelor of Business follows the standard flexible-major structure most Australian business schools use now: a shared first-year core across accounting, economics, marketing, and management, then students pick a major: accounting, marketing, management, human resource management, tourism, or a handful of others, and build the back two years around it. What sets the delivery apart is less the content than the mode: a large share of the cohort studies wholly online, and the university has built its systems around that being the default rather than an add-on for people who can't make it to campus.
The degree carries professional accreditation pathways relevant to its majors, the accounting major is designed to meet the academic requirements for CPA Australia and CA ANZ membership, for instance, so students with a specific professional body in mind can check their major choice against that requirement early rather than discovering a gap in final year.
A capstone business project or internship unit toward the end of the degree gives students a chance to apply what they've studied to an actual organisational problem, and the university's regional business networks around Toowoomba and southeast Queensland feed a reasonable number of those placements.
