About this program

UTS's Bachelor of Business is a generalist business degree that leans on a major rather than forcing students to declare a specific professional identity from day one. Accounting, finance, management, marketing, international business and a handful of other majors sit under the one course code, and the first year is largely shared foundation subjects across all of them.

The business school occupies the Dr Chau Chak Wing Building, the Frank Gehry-designed building near Central Station that's become something of a Sydney landmark, and the course markets its connections to the CBD's finance and consulting employers heavily, including a work-integrated learning subject most students take in their final year with a real organisation.

Because majors can be combined (a second major, or paired with a business minor), the degree gives students more flexibility to pivot mid-course than a narrowly-titled Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Accounting would, at the cost of being somewhat less immediately legible to employers who are looking for a specific accreditation pathway (accounting students, for instance, need to check their major satisfies CPA Australia or CAANZ requirements specifically).
