About this program
UOW's LLB is taught out of the School of Law on the main campus and is accredited for admission purposes in NSW. It can be taken standalone but most students do a combined degree: Laws/Arts, Laws/Commerce, Laws/Science are the common pairings. The law school runs a clinical legal education program through the Illawarra Legal Centre, giving students real client contact under supervision before they graduate, a differentiator from programs that stay purely classroom-based until Practical Legal Training.
Wollongong isn't a huge legal market compared to Sydney, so a lot of graduates end up doing PLT and early career work there, but the local legal aid and community legal centre placements give students exposure most city-campus students don't get until much later in their careers.

4 terms of coursework
- Core (Priestley 11 subjects): Contracts, Torts, Criminal Law, Property, Equity, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Evidence, Civil Procedure, Company Law, Professional Conduct
- Electives: minimum 8 subjects from areas including IP law, family law, international law, employment law
- Clinical option: supervised placement at Illawarra Legal Centre (credit-bearing)
- Capstone: research subject or moot competition, final year
