Bachelor of Computer Science

University of Wollongong, Wollongong, NSW, Australia

About this program

The undergraduate sibling of UOW's Master of Computer Science, this degree covers programming fundamentals through software engineering practice, security, and a choice of specialisation streams: the school offers strands touching games and interactive media, data-adjacent electives, and networks and cybersecurity. UOW's CS undergrad has an established internship option that a meaningful slice of students take up, usually with regional employers or Sydney firms willing to take on Illawarra-based interns.

First year is common across CS, IT and related degrees, so switching majors early is low-friction. The degree is accredited with the Australian Computer Society, which matters for anyone aiming at visa-sponsored roles later.
