Master of Data Science and Decisions
UNSW Sydney, Sydney, NSW, Australia
About this program
A relatively new postgraduate program pairing UNSW's strengths in computer science and AI with the business school's decision science and operations research base. It's built to produce people who can do technical data science work but also translate it into business decisions, rather than training pure ML engineers. Courses cross-list between the Business School and the AI Institute.
Applicants come from varied first degrees (engineering, science, commerce, even social science with quantitative subjects), and the foundation stream adjusts for that. The capstone is typically an applied project with an industry partner, reflecting UNSW's broader push to place graduate projects with real organisations rather than purely academic problems.
