Who is eligible
New international students in eligible vocational, undergraduate, postgraduate coursework, or research courses at Charles Darwin University who meet the academic and English requirements and commence in 2026. Assessed automatically, with the award shown in your letter of offer.
Charles Darwin University's standard international award reduces tuition by 30 percent on eligible courses. There is no application: if you meet the entry criteria, the discount is built into your letter of offer.
CDU is based in Darwin in the Northern Territory, which is classified regional for skilled migration and has some of the lowest living costs of any Australian capital. An automatic fee cut, extra visa points, and cheaper rent together make it one of the more cost-effective options in the country.
CDU's official scholarship page confirms the award is automatic, with no application, essay, or interview, based purely on meeting the academic and English entry requirements for an eligible course. The offer must be accepted in time to commence in the relevant intake, and successful completion of your most recent prior studies is required. The page does not publish a minimum GPA threshold, a cap on how many students receive the discount each year, or a total value disbursed, and it does not state whether the reduction carries over automatically into later years of a multi-year course or needs reconfirming each year.
