Scholarships for studying in Australia

45 scholarships, each with value, level and deadline

Government schemes, university awards, and external funding for international students, grouped by who runs them. Each entry says what it is worth, who it is for, and whether it needs a separate application or is applied automatically when you are admitted.

Set your expectations before you start. Most awards labelled “scholarship” for international students are partial tuition reductions, often 10 to 50 percent off the course fee, decided on your academic record at the offer stage. The awards that also cover living costs, mainly Australia Awards and the Research Training Program for research degrees, are far fewer, far more competitive, and run on their own timelines rather than through your admission application.

Use the “separate application” and “automatic on admission” labels to plan your effort. Automatic awards need nothing more than a strong application by the normal deadline. The rest have their own forms, essays, and cut-off dates, sometimes six to twelve months before your intake, so check those first.
