Commencing international undergraduate or postgraduate coursework students in the top 25 percent of offer holders from their region. Assessed automatically, with no separate application.

Federation University's Merit Scholarship reduces tuition by 20 percent for the length of an eligible course, awarded automatically to the stronger quarter of international offer holders. Federation also runs a more selective 50 percent Vice-Chancellor award for high-achieving students from South Asia, Southeast Asia and China, which needs a separate application and interview.

Federation's main campuses are in Ballarat and Gippsland in regional Victoria, so studying there adds the regional points toward the 190 and 491 visas. International applicants are considered automatically for its full set of scholarships when they apply.
