About this program
The ANU Bachelor of Information Technology is a three-year degree that prepares graduates to enter the computing industry as practitioners who build software or apply computing within organisations. The program is made up of seven compulsory courses and a further nine computing courses plus electives, with students taking four courses (24 units) per semester for 24 courses across the degree. Students choose a computing major of 48 units or a minor of 24 units, and all majors begin with the principles of programming, a broad view of the computing profession, and the functional structure of computers. Taken with a major in Information Systems, Software Development or Cyber Security, the degree is accredited by the Australian Computer Society. Admission is competitive and applicants must meet program-specific academic and English language requirements. Graduates typically work as programmers, network administrators, systems or business analysts, and web developers.
