The Master of Philosophy at the Australian National University through the School of Engineering is a research higher degree in which candidates undertake supervised research culminating in a thesis that makes an original contribution to knowledge in areas such as systems engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechatronics, renewable energy, materials and manufacturing, or biomedical engineering. Candidates work with increased independence under a supervisory panel of experts, and the MPhil can serve as a pathway to PhD candidature.
