Undergraduate · Communications & Media
Bachelor of Communication
Bond University, Gold Coast, QLD, Australia
About this program
Bond's Bachelor of Communication pairs a shared communication and media core with one of ten specialist areas: Advertising, Communication and Society, Corporate Storytelling, Creative Writing, Digital Media, Film and Television, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, or Social Media. Students choose either a full major (six subjects in one area) or a minor (four subjects) topped up with two general electives, which makes it straightforward to pair, say, a Journalism major with a Digital Media minor, or to leave room for subjects outside the faculty entirely.
The degree leans hard on applied skills: strategic communication, persuasive writing, content creation for online platforms, podcasting, and intercultural communication all appear alongside the theory subjects. The Faculty of Society & Design's industry partnerships mean a for-credit internship is a realistic option for most students rather than a rare exception. Combined with Bond's three-trimester calendar, the degree is typically finished in around two years of continuous study.
